New Year’s Eve in New Orleans

Come to New Orleans to dance in the streets and usher in 2012! The Crescent City Countdown Club will once again host a street party of epic proportions to celebrate New Year’s Eve.

The fun starts at 9:00pm on Dec 31st. with musical performances on the Decatur Street City Stage, and continues all night long. At the stroke of midnight, the 2012 Board will light up with the new year, and fireworks will begin, synchronized to music, including the fight songs of ┬ávisiting Allstate Sugar Bowl teams Michigan and Virginia Tech, as well as those of BCS Championship teams LSU and Alabama. As if that were not enough, the fireworks will reflect the teams’ colors as their fight songs play!

December 17th, 2011 will find Lafayette Street teeming with Santa look-alikes accompanied by Mrs. Clauses and even a few elves.Running of the Santas is credited as “The World’s Naughtiest Festival and Pub Crawl” and attracts thousands to the Warehouse District for fun and frivolity that only New Orleans can provide.

Tickets are $15 and proceeds will benefit the That Others May Live Foundation, which provides support, immediate tragedy assistance and scholarships to families of U.S. Air Force personnel who are killed or severely wounded in operational or training missions.

After the Fun Run, wherein hundreds of Santa wanna-bes flood the street for 3 blocks, from the “South Pole” to the “North Pole”, where the festivities will commence in earnest.
